Don’t Wait is an off the cuff, single take live recording, performed in the final fifteen minutes of a recording session for the album. Even though it was written before the onset of the pandemic, it seemed to take on new meaning during the lockdown. It’s about interpreting and understanding your anxieties in order to quell them.
lyrics
Smallest space
Face the same way
Moving at such high speed
Perfectly still
Among living dead
In over my head
Force ourselves out of the red
Somewhere safe and warm
Don’t Wait
Don’t leave your mind in just one place
Long enough to feel afraid
Isolate
Don’t Wait
Don’t leave your mind in just one place
Long enough to feel afraid
We’re wired to connect
It’s natural you’re yearning
Evolve and create
Never stop learning
Don’t hide from the change
Grow each and every day
They’ve found me out
Don’t fear that the best is only a memory
Pain will recede as all things eventually
Fears can be shed
As futile as identity
The sound of “NOW! 2073” is also the sound of 1983: laser-like minimalist electropop that flirts with coldwave and dance music. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 4, 2021
